Well everyone gets in a rut....but you are creating a monster by being the only one able to cook. When do you get a break and have your boy friend be the server.? Bad habit to get going!

But things like meat loaf, salmon loaf, baked chicken, meatballs, stuffed peppers, tuna cassarole, macaroni and cheese
chili, enchiladas, tacos, etc. are all easy to make.

Baked Potatoes are also easy, pork chops baked with a sauce on them, baked ham slices with yams, you can alternate the meals with simpler ones in between....like omelets, or quiche,
or spaghetti and have pork chops, or meat loaf, etc. in between.
And there are websites for all the cable cooking shows that have all the recipes they have shown on TV....if you don't have cable just look up the names on the TV guide...then look up their website...most of the recipes they do are easy to make.

Also collect some cookbooks. The ones from groups of ladies who put in their favorite recipes are really good and cheap- you can get them at thrift shops or garage sales. Also ask people what is their favorite recipes to do.....especially good
from pot luck dinners.

But times have changed. It is no longer the woman is the cook and housekeeper. Take some days off! I have five daughters...all married...and all their husbands help with cooking, housekeeping, and the kids. It's share and share alike!

A well-stocked pantry is your greatest asset when it comes to easy and creative cooking. Basic canned foods, such as corn, beans and tomatoes, are your meal staples. But shoppers always welcome new ideas for their old favorites.

Here are some Reci-Tips to introduce you to different ways to use canned food. These easy-to-remember hints can be incorporated in your everyday meal preparation for the top five essential canned foods.

Canned Tomatoes

For a Mediterranean meat loaf, add sliced canned olives to your regular meat or turkey loaf recipe. Then sauce with diced canned tomatoes.

Spread seasoned canned tomato sauce, canned artichoke hearts and shredded mozzarella cheese on English muffins. Heat and serve.

Canned Beans

Mix canned red, black and green beans with garlic vinaigrette and a dash of chili powder for a spicy, Southwest three-bean salad.

Add canned white beans to your favorite tomato pasta sauce and toss with fanciful pasta shapes for a true Tuscan main course.

Canned Chicken Broth

Use canned chicken broth to enhance the flavor and reduce the fat in your creamy mashed potatoes.

Create an Asian-style chicken soup by simmering thin egg noodles in canned chicken broth. Then stir in some drained canned mushrooms, diced cooked chicken and season with ginger and soy sauce.

Canned Fruit

For a lively salad, combine chunks of store-bought rotisserie chicken, canned mandarin oranges and canned pineapple chunks. Dress the salad with mayonnaise thinned with a little Dijon mustard and the reserved canned mandarin orange juice.

For a memorable fish main course, marinate a mild whitefish (halibut or grouper, for instance) in soy sauce and juice drained from tropical canned fruit for about 30 minutes. Then broil, bake or grill. Toss the canned fruit with fresh cilantro and a spritz of lime juice for a fruit salsa garnish.

Canned Corn

To create a hearty soup, add some canned corn to your favorite canned soups, such as clam chowder or cream of tomato.

Give your scrambled eggs an extra kick by mixing them with canned corn and canned diced green chilies.
