hey there...well yes ive had it done to me, and i hate to say it but i have done it myself. Its so common for people to say that..but in some cases it really is true. Some times it is them and not you...i ended a relationship because of personal problems- he was perfect, but at the time it wasn't right! But then again there are those ppl hu use it as a quick getaway which leaves people who say it but mean it look like liars! My advice...say this line if its TRUE, otherwise, tell the truth. You will all be respected for it in the end, no matter how hard it is 2 say or hear. xxx

I actually ended my last relationship that way. I was with this guy for four months and then just realized I was drifting from him. I told him "I can't see myself as being anything more than friends at this point and I'm sorry. It really isn't anything you've done, it's just the way I feel."

Every relationship i have ever been in the lad has broken up with me using that line, not even face to face, all three have been over text message...it sucks cause you know it is a lie like and it might actu be helpful if they told you what you did wrong but my exs are cowards!!

Yeah, a friend set me up with a mate of her's who'd met me once & decided he'd like to get to know me better. We went out for the day, had an ok day, though I wasn't interested in anything but friendship. We got a tram back but he decided he had better things to be doing & went home. (rther than spend the eve with me). A little while later he phoned me with the "It's not you, it's me..." quote, only problem was, I agreed with him & that rather put him out.

Of course they have, its a perfect "cop out" which makes them feel less of a baddie, and also paves the way for if they decide to go crawling back by then saying that they have now sorted themselves out and they want you after all!

I've never done it, but it's been done to me. So that the second guy who tried it on, I was ready to tell him that I knew that line, and that he didn't have to worry about it, because I wasn't too bothered.
It's a bit lame, isn't it?!
