There is no reason why a well balanced diabetic
should not occasionally,
enjoy some wine, with her /his meal
( in fact a glass of red wine, is good for the heart)

A diabetic, can enjoy good healthy food and drink ,
without coming to any harm .
just so long as they check / adjust and maintain,
their sugar levels .
Most long term diabetics are very skilled ,
at maintaining a good balance .
They know how , what and when ,to eat or drink
And how to lead a normal life, in spite of this disease

Excess of anything is bad, for all of us .
However, we are all entitled ,to a treat now and then.

YES! a glass or two of Red wine, with a meal
is just fine for a diabetic . Enjoy!

whoever keeps posting that diabetics can't have one is wrong. My mom is a diabetic and there are negligble carbohydrates and sugar in wine. have a look at the attached info from USDA regarding the carb content of wine. the trace amounts of carbs in wine may not even be carbs. it just has something besides alcohol in it that cannot be identified. Carbohydrates are more important for determining whether a diabetic should consume something...not just sugar content.

And it is actually a myth that alcohol raises your blood sugar, it actually lowers it.

by all means have wine in moderation with a good balanced diabetic diet. Probably not half a bottle....and be aware of your diet and monitor your blood sugar levels with your meter.

i'd desire to repeat the hundreds of concerns that have been stated already approximately storage of opened wine, besides the undeniable fact that that would desire to be redundant. that's what they neglected: even however wine shouldn't ever be predicted to have the equivalent flavor because it did in the previous than being recorked, think approximately to look on the varietal your are ingesting. as an occasion, in case you have been speaking of a chianti or zinfandel, you're able to be dropping alot of that dry, very nicely style that makes it that style of wine. on your case, you have gotten a pinot noir, the lightest of the purple wine varietals. you have an fragrant, fruity wine a solid thank you to start to lose that's sweetness. My suggestion to you is that in case you absolutly are no longer waiting to end a bottle of wine in one sitting (now no longer via potential of your self, basically in case you have leftover), the friendly element of do is chew the bullet and use it for a especially spiced arriabita tomato sauce or pork stew the subsequent evening time.

If you have to ask then you already know the answer. No it is probably not a good idea. Especially if you need to check your sugar level. Make the necessary adjustment if you feel the need to drink. And make sure there is something nearby if you go into shock.

Vodka is the only thing I'll drink since being diagnosed. I only will mix it with something sugar free and I don't drink too much. It is low carb and sugar free is why I choose Vodka. Be careful whatever you choose and test your sugar levels when/if you try Vodka. Everyone is different.

No....it turns into sugar and is detrimental....diabetics cannot drink alcohol at all....leads to worsening of their condition.
