for only working 4 hours at our nightclub but will work at a restaurant at night for only 10 dollars an hour

and most the time all they do at the niteclub is sit in their cars? is there a special reason why they are mostly outside than inside?

The work they do as a security officer requires special training and more focus during the shift. Working in a resturaunt doesn't bring the threat of violence and require quick decision making ability that security does either.

I'd be surprised if you could find a restraunt server that could easily switch roles and work as a security guard without the specialized training. He/she would probably end up beat up and bloody in the back alley.

First and foremost is Officer Safety, most security jobs are done from the outside while the clubs security takes care of the inside.
When the clubs security encounters patrons who are disorderly then the Police can take the appropriate course of action.

It is considered a 'reasonable" amount and anything more might cause be considered a conflict of interest. Think about it - an officer of the law cannot open and run a bar.
