Listen to them is all I can say becuse for the first year and a half ,and trust me on this, the dogs won't even get along they will be jelous of each other. If you cann't afford it any way just wait a few years till you are ready and prepaired for the dogs to not get along and have enough money to take good care of both of them.

Yeah, you can get a puppy for $125.00 but you will pay hundreds more in vet bills, puppy training, possible damage when the pup is in its chewing/housebreaking stage, not to mention food, toys, bedding/housing and the time needed. Puppies are a huge amount of work and very costly. It's great that you want to adopt but if your parents are not on board no amount of convincing is going to change their minds. You and your current dog will just have to be content with having eachother (which is still a good deal for both of you.) Many people who love animals can't have even one because they rent or don't have the time or money.

Tell them that your dog needs a companion. Dogs are pack animals so having two dogs would be good. Dogs don't need another dog to be happy though because s/he has you. Be really responsible with the dog you have now and show them that you can handle another one. Remember that you and your family both need to be ready for another dog because it takes a lot of responsibility from the whole family. Good Luck!!

I know you don't want to hear this but, You need to listen to what your parents are saying.
For one thing maybe they can't afford another dog. It costs money to take care of a dog.
Another thing are you paying attention to the dog you have now. Are you playing with him/her and spending time with him/her everyday?
There is something very important for you to understand? Your dog has a best friend. You are your dog's best friend right now. He loves you. He/She doesn't care if they have another dog he/she has you and your parents.
Getting a puppy takes a lot of responsibility from you.

Maybe you should think about it again.I mean do you really want to take care of another dog.Its really hard work. But I mean if you really like dogs then maybe you probably think about earning some money to buy another one.Just think about your parents first.Imagine all the money that they would have to pay for it.

I wouldn't beg them (trust me from my own experiance) as they will just get angery and mad.Maybe try asking them for a guinea pig,or hamster. They make good pets.Guinea pigs especially,as it take alot to make them bite you,and they are nice to other animals.Try my idea, and they may consider it.
