That's not possible to anwer. Every apple is different and some might have seeds than others and some might not have any seeds at all. That's why people use a "average" because everything isn't the same.

there is no EXACT answer..

as few as 2-3 and could be as many as 10 or more... depends on the apple

I just went an cut open an apple and it had 8 seeds..

so 8 is my final answer :)
