Ok so my cat is in heat. We don't have the money to get her fixed. So at night she screams, and we have to be up at 5 to go to work. We have tried everything. Closing the bedroom door only makes her scream louder and scratch it all night. We tried giving her warm milk, it worked a little bit, she slept for a few hours, but then woke up screaming again.

Any Ideas?

There are birth control pills for cats, try those, otherwise there is only the fixing solution, sorry, or be patient until the heat season passes.. And don't get a male or you will soon end up with a dozen cats you can't afford to get fixed.

The answers about low-cost spay and neuter clinics are great ideas. I would absolutely try that first. What you might be able to do is "breed" her.... with a q-tip... because cats will stay in heat until they are bred. Do this very very gently. I don't even recommend doing that. Try the spay clinic first. Some places will do it for around sixty dollars.

awwwwwww your poor cat must be in so much pain just stroke before she goes to bed and when shes near you in the day it will calm her down at night and the screeching will quieten slightly but the best thing to do is either :
somehow come-up with the money to get her spayed/neutered
or
let her live it through after a while she should get used to it!!!

In almost every town and city they have a low cost pet clinic for people who can't afford it. Or call your local Humane Society for referrals and suggestions. Please do it as soon as possible because she will drive you insane. Cats go into heat often.

I don't think you can do much. Contact a local animal shelter or even your vet. Explain your situation and they might be able to help you. This will happen again, so please for your sakes. and kitty's, get her fixed. (Maybe they can set up a payment plan)
