when you call the corners, what guardians do you invoke???

Former Pagan. They are Elementals. Earth, Air, Fire, Water. North, East, South, West (respectively)

I usually go with the elemental. Calling the 'powers of air' to the East, ect. Rarely, when I do a dark moon ritual, I will use a ritual I found in a DJ Conway book. It is a reversal that invokes the Goddesses' Underworld aspect and names the corners as Her hounds. I modify it to help me balance myself as I don't need to do reversals anymore.

I call the unnamed elements. I do not call beings to witness.

However, if I were to choose to design a ritual to do so, I would call an elemental pack, an alpha, a beta, a gamma, and an omega, to watch the corners for me.

In regular everyday spells for things like health, wealth, success, I call Elemental Air, Water, Fire, and Earth. When I am doing Ceremonial or Transcendental magick, I call the archangels, but my perception of their basic functions and attributes remains the same. I merely use the Archangels' names because that is the recommended format of the ritual.

Invocation:

Hail, Guardians of the North — Hail and Welcome!"

Devocation:

"Hail, Guardians of the East, Powers of Air!
We thank thee for attending and protecting this rite,
And for standing guard at the eastern wall of our temple.

Now our rite is done,
We bid thee Hail, Spirits of the East — Hail and Farewell!"

I was trained Alexandrian, but do not invoke the Guardians of the Watchtowers because I am not currently practicing in an Alexandrian context.

Scripture:
“When the unclean spirit goes out of a man . . . it says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when it comes, it finds it swept and put in order. Then it goes and takes along seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they go in and live there; and the last state of that man becomes worse than the first.” – Luke 11:24-26 NASB


The Inspiration Networks recently received an email from a man in the United Kingdom who wrote that he had been battling with Satanic forces. Through reading the Inspiration Today! devotional magazine, he realized God wanted him “to take further steps in spiritual warfare.” Even the night before receiving the magazine, he “was tormented by demonic spirits,” continuing a battle that “had been going on for years.” The devil had victimized him as the result of voodoo, and he “ended up almost out of my mind.” But, through the ministry we provided, this man was set free!




Millions of people are just like this man, tormented by demons. Christians must realize that these demonic forces are real, and they look for people who are open to their influence. Jesus spoke of an unclean spirit that came back to a life that was “swept and put in order.” That person was not prepared for Satan’s attacks. He was vulnerable, and a demonic spirit returned with seven other spirits more evil than itself.




Today, make sure you are ready for these spiritual attacks. First, make sure your heart is clean. Don’t allow any TV programs, movies, books, or anything else with demonic elements into your life or home. Instead, fill your mind and heart with God’s Word. Praise and worship Him. Be on guard, and take up the spiritual weapons God has given you (Ephesians 6:10-18).


Prayer:
Father, help me to be ready for the attacks of the enemy. Give me spiritual sensitivity. Open my eyes to see the truth more clearly. I trust You and declare victory! In Jesus’ name. Amen.
