You need more moisture in your home.
***Try boiling water and letting the steam put moisture in the air. ***Buy a humidifier.
***When you wash you clothes, sheets, and towels make sure and put softener in the rinse cycle.
***Put cling free sheets in the dryer.
***Also buy some static cling free spray.

Try a humidifier. I seem to remember that static electricity is worse when it's dry, so if the air has moisture the static shock wont be as bad. Hope it helps!

First no walking around in socks.
It sounds like you have carpet, the number one cause of static electricity.
You can spray a product called cling free which is like what you would use in the dryer and that works well.
Another possibility is more humidity (even a bucket of water in a room will provide some sort of relief)

Install a humidifier onto your furnace, it works great! They just add a little moisture into the air and the static is gone.
