I don't think they will do much the first year, but unfortunately they will probably be strong in a couple of years. I really do not like the idea of a foreign car maker in NASCAR. It needs to be a completely American sport.

Without a doubt they will have an impact on this season. Toyota is throwing a bunch of $$$ at their teams and they have some of the best technology and a legendary reputation for dependability. I don't think any of their drivers will make the chase but you never know. Mayfield would be their best hope, he's been in 2 out of the last 3 chases for the Nextel cup. Bill Davis Racing is a classy organization as well. DJ is decent but he's been sliding back the last couple of years. Vickers is an up and comer but will team Red Bull be strong enough? It wouldn't surprise me to see a Toyota either win a race or contend for a couple though.

Personally I don't really think they'll have much of an impact in their first season. They got Jarrett, Waltrip, Reutimann, Blaney, Mayfield, Allmemdinger and Vickers. Only Jarrett has a guaranteed spot in every race this year. So honestly I think some of these drivers are going to fail to even qualify for a lot of races this year. Maybe DJ or Mayfield could get Toyota a win this year. DJ with all his experience and Mayfield taking risks with fuel mileage like he did at Michigan. All in all, not much of an impact this year, just too many questions.

Yes they will make a slight impact. If they perform well this year, the majority of the impact will come next year or the year after.

I would watch out. I feel Toyota will pour millions (billions?) into the first two seasons. If you have the money, you can buy the talent and the equipment. Since we already have enough Americans who think Japanese cars are better than American cars, a win the second year could hurt us badly.

I think the only way America is going to get our car market back is to improve quality and reliability, yet still keep prices competitive.

I don't know. It's kinda hard to say. I do think they will dump as much money as they can into their teams and research and development this season just to come out swinging next season.

Trial and error right.

NASCAR is now ruined due to allowing Toyota in the sport. They may bring money to the sport but it completely ruins the fact of it being an AMERICAN event and tradition.

DJ had been one of the slowest cars at Daytona. They will have little impact this year.
