I mean, surely you can see that rising from the dead, rising into the sky, and other reported feats of Jesus, can seem a little far-fetched to rational and thoughtful people -- but if these things are too much for them to swallow, what happens?

Do they automatically get sentenced to Hell? Can any church people help me with this? I mean, try to think about this in a rational way for a moment. Especially considering that the penalty for not believing these strange things is supposedly you burn and rot for eternity...

You got it right pretty much.
If you can't believe all the strange things attributed to Jesus, you will suffer eternal damnation. You have to believe things that have no evidence or scientific support, and some things that are just plain weird.

If you you've been raised to believe that stuff, you'll have a better chance of getting into Heaven.

But don't worry about it -- it's all a hoax.

I can understand being a little unsure of it all....I am sure when the apostles saw the Lord after they were a little dumb founded to......but the thing is....He did....He had to....and it is at that point that our salvation is full filled.....If you remember Jesus said while being nailed to the cross "forgive them Father for they do not know".........so no I don't think you go straight to hell is you are unsure about the whole resurrection thing......but.....I think sometimes we just need to have faith...Jesus did many things that are hard to believe...from healing the blind to raising the dead....to the resurrection.....all you have to have is the faith of a mustard seed...mustard seeds aren't that big....if you believe in Christ that have faith in what He can do......Be blesses

That means they do not have faith and therefore cannot serve God in any meaningful way.

Everyone is ALREADY sentenced to hell. The Q is, how are you going to get out of it? People dont burn for theire beliefs, they burn because of what is in their hearts, mainly pride and other kinds of wickedness. People dont believe because they lack faith and dont believe God.

How can we, as rational, finite beings comprehend God who is infinite and irrational (saying that He is beyond comprehension, not a mad God) there many things we cannot understand, but we can believe. That is what faith is for.

If anyone sincerely desires to know if these things are true, if they exercise a particle of faith and ask God, it shall be given them to know the truth of all things. The Holy Ghost testifies of truth to all men.
