From "credible" information, yes, I believe this is true. & who is to blame them? I got an email from the AP this morning, quoting Foreign Minstry spokesman Mohammad Ali Hosseini: "Such accusations cannot be relied upon or be presented as evidence. [re Iran's alleged support of Iraq] The United States has a long history in fabricating evidence. Such charges are unacceptable." I gave a lot of thought to this when I saw/heard him say it on TV, especially in view of a recent CSpan interview about the WMD scare so many, many LIVES ago. Pace, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff has brought the allegation into serious question. As for "materials": "That does not translate that the Iranian government per se, for sure, is directly involved in doing this. What it does say is that is that things in Iran are being used in Iraq to kill coalition solders." (Thus, it does NOT PROVE Iran is supplying them.) I wonder will we let ourselves be duped yet again? "ander"---The UN could never enforce such a rule. Who decides what countries ought not to have nuclear capacities? This is like a community getting together & saying some of the neighbors are BAD, therefore, they must not be allowed any guns/weapons, but "we" who are the GOOD guys will keep ours, & raid the neighbors. Great concept, but idealistic. Lake Lover gave a thoughtful answer. After INVADING IRAQ, what on earth do we expect? I agree totally with the question.

Not really, I believe it would have occurred regardless.
All countries are looking out for their best interests.
If anything, I think some countries look upon America as foolish right now, bc of the Bush Blunders and the misuse of our military resources. What has occurred has not been wise and perhaps these other countries are sensing certain vulnerabilities and taking advantage of the situation right now. It perhaps is their view that since Iraq has been mishandled that larger conflicts would not be well-managed at the moment. That means we'd resort to more dramatic means to achieve an end.
Peace will have to be a worldwide goal and I think it starts with politics and careful placement of individuals that can try to achieve that end. Certain people (diplomats and leaders from various countries) will have to take risks to insist that peace-making efforts persist.
I might also add that this world is too tolerant of organized criminal activities and corruption really needs to be addressed.

No the US is not the cause of this buildup, some countries are creating nuclear technology for defensive reasons. Russia has had nuclear capacity before the US did. There is not a "scare" but a natural progession of the technology dealing with warfare.

Right...when everyone hates you and some attack you, you should demilitarize as quickly as possible.
China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea until a few years ago these were all peace loving friendly nations who looked after the best interests of the world. We have changed their whole history overnight.

It is all Bush's fault! These things really scare a normal civillian like myself, and he should have been impeached long ago. The UN should enforce a new ruling that ALL countries dismantle their nuclear weapons and are forbidden to carry out nuclear testing. I think Bush and Blair were separated from birth coz they are the most annoying, hypocritical, clueless leaders of the world!! I'm glad both of them are leaving their high posts soon, coz their people really need true leaders who understand her people and will fight for world peace and unity, and will prioritize her people's needs first. We need leaders who will promote peace and harmony in the world; not by means of weapons of mass destruction, but by cultivating the understanding of other cultures.
