What would you do? Yesterday my boyfriend brought roses over and a bottle of wine. He loves wine...I love roses. The problem is he is clumsy. I've know him six months ...and he has spilt wine four times.I also have a designer home. He spilt wine on the arm of my$ 25,000. couch the first time. I felt sorry for him. He didn't mean to and thank goodness the wine came out. Then three weeks later he split it on my white carpet in my bedroom and he left cause he didn't want me to be upset with him. Then month later same rug and he ruined it. Now last night he was in the living room and spilt his wine all over the floor and down two walls that are now stained and have to be repainted ( designer painted).
I got very upset with him...he was not drunk...it was his first glass. Then he gets angry at me for getting angry at him. The rug has to be replaced in my bedroom no easy chore..the furniture is very heavy...and my two walls which where gold are now red, need re-painting.What would you do?

That's unfortunate, however, if you really have a thing for this guy you will need a lot of patience. The first and second spill I could forgive, but....
Firstly, I would request he pay for the replacement or the cost of repair, may make him a little more conscientious as to his actions.
Secondly, you could switch to only serving him white wine or buy him one of those dribbleless glasses that you get for children. That would open his eyes

I would have him stay in the kitchen, same as you have to do for toddlers. However, I also must add that your home is very high maintenance and for this relationship you may be overextending your realities for the sake of luxury. Before you fix everything, go buy some nice runners or dark area rugs. Make a point of staying near the protectants when you have Clumsy McClumbsums over again. I love red wine, too. But I sit still or stand in the kitchen when I drink it. It also matches my $900 chocolate leather Sofa Express couch really nicely. Mmmm. Merlot.

Paint the walls the same shade of red, dye the carpet the same color or darker red and who in their right mind would have a $25,000 couch AND a wine drinking CLUMSY boyfriend in the same house?????

I think you posted the same question about the "whine" and the clumsy boyfriend and the designer digs already. I suggested a sippy cup or a plastic bottle with a nipple, and I stand by that answer.

First, don't let him drink wine in the house. Second, don't be hung up on a bunch of material things. A $25,000 COUCH?
