I used Completetax.com to file my state and federal returns, and I haven't received an answer, it says still processing. I have emailed their customer support, and did their on-line chat, still no response and the return is still depending?? I've paid for on-line filing. Should I be afraid of identify theft?

Contact the IRS, the return is in processing with them not your preparer, The IRS can let you know if there is a processing problem with your return.

Are you saying that on the IRS refund site that it says your refund is still processing? If so, then it probably won't update again until early Tuesday morning---that's when I would check back since I heard that they update the refund status on Mondays between midnight and 3AM. I know with my daughter's return it said it was being processed for at least a week, then when I checked again on Tuesday morning, it finally gave her a direct deposit date. Right now they are working on the refund site so you'll have to check back after Monday anyway.

If you efiled, here's the chart that shows when you can expect your refund to be deposited into your account:

My refund page has been in processing since last Thursday--so it's been way over a week, but I'm expecting them to update the page by Tuesday morning. It did give me a general date of expecting a return but not a direct deposit date.

Also, after you efiled with Completetax you should of received another email status saying the IRS has accepted your return. If you received that and your status is still processing, you are probably right on track, so I really would not worry about identity theft.

I use Turbotax. After e-filing, it says to come back in a few days to verify that the IRS has accepted the return. Maybe they're waiting for notification from the IRS.

I would immediately get on the telephone and attempt to get clarification from the company directly. I would also visit the IRS website to confirm this company is an authorized IRS e-file provider.
