do you believe spirits can some visit you in your sleep?

I have never seen a ghost and i dont know if i believe in them but my aunt lived out in the country and she always had a wood buring fire place and it always smelled like smoke in the house and she died at a young age and was creamated and the night she was creamated, i went sleep and i could smell fire wood in my sleep and it woke me up and i smelled it for 2 minutes and the smell went away and i went to sleep and it happend again.so i went an slepts in the truck i was so scared. was a dreaming or was it her scent visiting me in my sleep. it also happend to my other aunt i smelled flowers on my blanket after i woke up

Don't let it scare you and don't spend anymore time sleeping in the truck. I believe your aunt is just letting you know she is OK. Have you tried to talk to her? It might sound crazy, but I have same type of experiences with loved ones that have passed and I talk to my grandma all the time , she helps me in life.Your aunt may be your spirit guide. try talking to her and let her love guide you.

Yes this can happen but it is not bad. She is checking on you and letting you know she is still with you. Also they will flicker lights or you will find pennies lying around on the floor. My Mom passed when I was born and my Brother over in Iraq. I have a cupboard that is hard to open and when my Brother passed, every once in a while I will come down and the cupboard is open. The TV will go off as we are watching it and no one is touching the remote. i smell roses once in a while and always have. My Mom's favorite flower was the rose. They are still here with us just in a different form. Talk to her next time you smell her. It'll comfort you. But don't be scared of her. She's your Aunt and she loves you.

yes I do. I was in a French hotel and woke up suddenly, to see my mother at the end of my bed, and I felt a sensation of utter love and warmth around me. I couldn't believe what I saw but didn't feel scared, just comforted. She was there for about a minute, just looking at me and I was wide awake. I know I was awake because I heard other people in the hotel and my watch said 1am. Anyway, after a while I went back to sleep, to be awoken by my mobile ringing at 6am.
Yes, you've guessed it ... my mother had died a few hours earlier in England. I had no pre-knowledge of her illness and my family in England were distraught.
I truly believe she came to see me, to say goodbye. I have smelt her perfume many times since then but it is becoming less and less - it's now four years since she died but I know she was around me many times.
I've told this story a few times on Yahoo and got thumbs-down from people ... well if they don't believe me then that's their prerogative, but I assure you this is true.

Aha.
Maybe everybody here will laught about this, i don't care, i have learned to live with it. We are many around the world who feel these kind of things, for everybody is different, definitely.
I don't see anything (thanks God), but there is "somenthing" in life that science or even the church cannot explain. I smell, feel, or dream. Not only with gone souls, alive souls also.
3 weeks ago i had dream with my youngest brother, i protected him from the brave water of the sea. I hold him in my arms and said, "i won't let you die". (that was in my dream).
24 hours later (in the reality), friday night i could not sleep. I felt his parfum (my brother's cologne)so strong in my bedroom. I was awake all night. I felt asleep 4:15 am morning saturday. 5 minutes later i woke up 'cause I recieved a phone call from a stranger introducing himself, and asking me if I was "Frank's sister" - I knew that somenthing had happened-, my heart told me. They Had a car accident and my brother was hurt. The day after, when he recognized me, he started crying like a little baby and: " He hold me so strong and said to me, you are my guard angel, i saw you in the moment of the crush, believe me i saw you, you were there".
What it was?, i don't know, i don't want to find out. The accident occured in the exact moment i felt aslept. My heart found his heart in that moment?, i don't know. Am I a witch ?... don't think that of me.
But one thing i wanna let you know guys, to me, that is just "The power of love".
PS: By the way, my grand-mama's smell is lavander. She already passed away.

I think your aunt came to visit you because in native american culture they believe the spirit stays around for 3 days untill it goes where its going. i think she might have planted those smells into your subconsious so that you would know she was there yet saying goodbye..

I believe in spirits, they come into your dreams, because it would probably scare you too much, if they appeared in front of you. I think its rather lovely that they did visit you, at least you know that they are safe wherever they are.

i believe there is a spiritual warfare going on, and that deamons are all around us trying to throw us off of what we believe. they might be messing w/you. the best thing to do is just pray to God that he will comfort you threw your time of need.
