Why is the rest of NATO leaving Canada and the US to do the bulk of the fighting in Afghanistan?

The NATO alliance only covers if one of the member nations is attacked then the others will help defend. Any NATO countries that are aiding are doing it of their own free will.

perhaps NATO is basically smarter than u . s . of america and knows at the same time as they have all made a huge mistake. Terrorism isn't a militia issue. particular you want some strike stress to attack bases from time to time, yet occupying a u . s . and chasing terrorists round is a pathetic attitude. We finally end up 1000's of miles from domicile and the terrorists can take the subway in large apple. Mr. Gates needs more beneficial help than NATO does.

Were it not for the war in Iraq that would probably be a lot different. Other nations are not to eager to replace US troops in Afghanistan so they can go elsewhere at this point. Can't say I really blame them for feeling that way. Sucks to be us though.

To answer your question....cuz its business as usual. The leaders we unfortunately have aren't worth spit. People need to set up PEOPLE RULES & REGULATIONS...such as to protect our investments to come back to us, our country and planet. We need leaders of heart, integrity and vision with a whole lot of passion towards all that dwell within our global home...planet earth.
