He needs this one pill every day. Any suggestions? No matter how concelaed the pill is in the food he somehow detects it and subsequently avoids it.

And yes, I have put it into his favorite treats and food. Any other suggestions?

I know it seems harsh but I had to hold my dog down and just cram it so far down his throat that he couldn't spit it back out. I even tried making a grilled cheese sandwhich with the pill in the middle for my dog (he loves those) but he could tell and wouldn't eat it so finally I just crammed it in.

Put it in a spoonful of ice cream, that one usually works. The other one is peanut butter, which has the advantage of being sticky so the pill stays concealed. I've only had one hardhead, where I had to poke pills down his throat.
Some people put the pill in a piece of hot dog, but I haven't found that one works as well for me.

This might seem mean, but coat the pill with a little butter or something that will help it go down esier. Hold the pill in one hand, grab the dog in the other. Open his mouth and just popit in If you get it far enough, he should swallow it. Sorry, I know that's tough love.

I had to give my dog a pill twice a day. I put it in a spoon full of peanut butter and that worked. I also mashed it up and mixed it with a little bit of canned food.

Are you able to cut the pill in half or thirds to hide it better? My dog used to love the small dollups of peanut butter I gave him. Little did he realize there was a part of his pill in there.
Another thing I'd do (when I was out of PB) was to take some jerky treats, break them apart, and toss them to my dog. He'd catch them in midair. At random, I'd throw the pill in, and he ended up catching it and wolfing it down before he even realized it wasn't the jerky!

Open his mouth pulling the head up, pop the pill to the back of the throat, shut the mouth and rub his neck so he swallows.

a dog can smell anything....he's no dummie...he smells that pill.
do what a vet does......grab his jaw, force his mouth open, tongue will stick out, arch his head back and toss the pill past his tongue.
this is how I have to give pills to my cats when needed.

try crushing the pill into a liquid that he likes or wet dog food . something he doesn't usually get but that he will eat without hesitation.
