My mother in law had her large intestine removed 3 weeks ago, as she was ready to go home she started vomiting and there were no bowel sounds. They did a catscan and found more blockage in the small intestine. A kink the dr said. He went back in and fixed it, but saw some "kinks" down in her pelvic area. She has had 17 abdominal surgeries and as you can figure out there was only one dr that would even touch her because of all of the adhesions. We asked him what now and he said that it would take a week or two for her intestines to wake up, in the meantime maybe the kinks would work themselves out. My question is if not then what. We are really concerned and he said that he didn't want to talk about that right now. We are supposed to stay positive and lead her into thinking that everything will work itself out in a couple of weeks. We just need answers and our dr seems pretty vague. Maybe he doesn't know, I don't know. We just care about her a lot and want answers.

My thoughts are with you...The doc probably can't predict what will happen with great accuracy. There are too many variables, and they don't teach that in a text book. Its a case by case basis. Stay positive, pray if you are a spiritual person, and trust in the dr.

do you pick us to decline it quite isn't or it quite is? we do not realize, leave it on your healthcare professional he's knowledgeable to substantiate what the precedence is, it would want to be each body of a dozen themes, like a twisted bowel, hernia, it cant be too undesirable or you may want to be in well being facility precise now.
