Someone asked about some Eastern religions, and as I have studied them in school I was able to give a pretty good answer I thought.

The only other 2 people that have answered to this point told the person they shouldn't be asking about it, or they are going to hell. And then they gave my answer a thumbs down!
So why would someone give me a thumbs down for answering a question appropriatly and respectfully?

Well I think it's really dumb and childish to give a thumbs down because you don't like the religion. I mean, you guys didn't have to post in that question at all. You know who you are.

Your answer is straight up, well said, and well researched. Some people don't like an intelligent answer because it makes their answer seem foolish and though they hide behind a protective shield of privacy; I say they still feel embarrass. These people should answer questions that go with their norm and not try to take on a question that they are not capable of answering. I'm pretty sure that's what Y/A is all about. Whenever you have a best answer Y/A e-mails you & tells you "Thank you for sharing your knowledge with others." They don't tell you "Thank you for sharing your idiotical answer." You are a smart one. Don't let the less smarty pants discourage you. Keep on sharing your wisdom with others. A lot more out there appreciates it.

Only because of that person's opinion. I have gotten thumbs downs for answers that were unquestionably true but because a person didn't like my answer, they gave a thumbs down. When you give an opinion on a public forum, you need to be open for any and all criticism.
I am a Fundamental Christian and I gave you a Thumbs Up. You don't have to agree with the philosophy to know a good answer when you see one.

Just to give you a thumbs up, I looked and noticed that although you did receive 4 thumbs down, you received 7 thumbs up, so that is more thumbs up than most answers get. Be happy with the good, and don't let the bad get to you...in the balance of things, the scales are tipped to your advantage!

Your answer was not very long or detailed, but it was still good. It was not deserving of a thumbs down.
Some people here will thumbs down just to feel better about themselves. They also report violations when there are none.
Don't take it personally, look at how many thumbs up you have (I gave you one)

I wouldn't give you a thumbs down. Even though your answer was relating to hell, you still answered the question perfectly without any abuse and thats all that matters.

Your answer was great. I think they figure that you are into those religions so they don't like you. I guess if you just answer a question and don't preach you must not know God. Don't let it get to you, you did fine. My thumbs up to you on the last question to help make up for the rude arrogant close minded people.

People are fools. They are not smart enough to recognize how brilliant you are. Or maybe they are just mad they didn't know the answer.
