Maybe it could. If it eases the pain enough where you can seriously think about fighting it and staying around a little longer. Power of the mind. But from a scientific standpoint, no it doesn't.

No. Nothing helps you last a little longer. The chemo my mom gets is an expensive joke. If cancer decides to spread its gonna go and there is no stopping it. Morphine and diluade (sp) just makes a little more comfortable

Technically, morphine is only one carbon atom different than heroin. Both of these drugs create free radicals in the body that destroy brain cells that once gone can not be regenerated. The answer is yes it will speed up the dying process, but I think you have to ask yourself is it better to relieve the pain of the experience or suffer.

So sorry you have this decision to make. It is not an easy one.

Morphine just helps the patient deal with the pain but it doesnot prolong your life. Emu oil gel caps kill cancer cells and should prolong and hopefully cure the condition.

As far as I can recall from when my aunt was in her final few days of life, morphine is simply used for pain relief. I'm pretty sure it doesn't extend life at all, simply makes the last few days as pain free as possible.

No it does not help you last longer. It just keeps you comfortable and it also tends to slow down your respirations so if you are really close to dying it may even make it a slightly quicker death since it slows your respirations down which may already be slow if you are close to death.

No. I try to experience as much pain as possible. When I am thinking about pain I am no longer thinking about despair. Pain never killed anyone, despair has killed millions.

No but because it relieves pain and other symptoms it improves the quality of the time you have left.
