I would also recommend openoffice. There are also numerous other free and inexpensive alternatives to the office suite.

However, if you are intent on using MS Office, then go to ebay and purchase MS OfficeXP ... it's an older version so it will be less expensive.

Any other method of getting it free (other than someone handing you a retail or OEM CD) is not legal, and sorry, I won't tell you how to do that.

No free downloads that I have ever found for Microsoft Office, but there is a good alternative that can create spreadsheets like excel, and I have not tried their word processor, but a lot of people use Star Office, its free. Just "google" Star Office and you should be able to locate it.

Either Star office or Open Office are good alternatives to MS Word. We use open office in our office and love it. It is FREE and comes with programs that are totally compatible with Word, Excel and Power Point

You can also use Open Office. Its free and you can download it at www.openoffice.org

You can open, edit and save your existing MS Word, excel, Powerpoint etc files using this software.
