From what I know some can cause photosensitvity like st johns wort. Things like the contreceptive pill alter hormone levels and can often clear up acne.

i think drugs can only pass through from the epidermis to the dermis...and this is where they are absorded and make changes...not in the epidermis as the skin gets renewed so often by new cells
