I thought maybe my ribs cracked again but my doc told me it could be that or shingles comming on. I dont have a rash! What do u think it is?

I agree!!! I just got over, maybe still getting over, a bout of Shingles. It started with severe constipation and pains exactly where and like yours. I broke out New Years Eve, and went to the emergency room New Years Day. I broke out on my butt!
The Doc asked me when it happened and I told him, "last night". he said "good, then we caught it in time" and gave me a prescription that cost $180.00! I had to take the pills exactly on time, every 8 hours for 7 days. for the constipation, I was also suppose to take a bottle of Magnesium Citrate, but I chickened out on that one..
When I went to get my medicine, the Pharmacist told me they have been getting alto of prescriptions for Shingles.

The only funny part of it all, was that I was putting roofing shingles on my roof the week before, so I said to my Doctor, "I didn't know that roof shingles were contagious"

The rash went away after 7 days, But, I still get some minor pain in my left lower back.

It very well could be shingles.
Shingles often starts with some pretty bad pain in one section of the body. Usually a rash will start to appear only a few days after the pain though. If after a week you still have no rash, i would start to suspect something different.
If you do start to see a rash, go back to your doc ASAP. Shingles can be very painful and over the next few days will get worse. The doc can give you anti-viral meds and help you stay comfortable. Just remember, just like chicken pox, no scratching!
Good luck, and feel better soon!

Doc probably knows. Listen to him. If it's cracked ribs, you may need treatment of some sort.

Shingles should have some treatment too. Left alone, they take 3 or 4 weeks to heal up. Shingles sometimes have flu-like symptoms. I have a day of vomiting, diherria before the break out happens.

I know that word for the scoots is misspelled, but I don't know what the correct spelling is. Spell checker doesn't recognize the word, either. Not even close.

It sounds like it could be shingles, you'll have to wait it out and see if a rash appears
