Lips may become chapped for a variety of reasons. These include:
Exposure to wind, sun, and cold, dry air
Obstructed breathing, such as in allergic rhinitis, which can force you to breathe through your mouth
Contact dermatitis due to irritants or allergens in cosmetics or skin-care products
Certain medications, such as those used to treat acne
A habit of frequently licking your lips
Dehydration
To treat or prevent chapped lips, consider these tips:
Use an oil-based lubricating cream, such as Aquaphor Healing Ointment, or lip balm containing petrolatum or beeswax.
Apply lip cream, balm or lipstick before going out in cold, dry weather. Reapply several times while outside.
Choose a lip cream or balm that contains sunscreen. Sun exposure contributes to chapped lips.
Avoid licking your lips. Saliva evaporates quickly, leaving lips drier than before you licked them.
Avoid using a flavored lip balm, which can tempt you to lick your lips.
Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids. Dehydration can contribute to chapped lips.
Use a humidifier at home to keep air moist.
If chapping is severe and self-care measures don't seem to help, consult your doctor. Rarely, persistent chapped lips may indicate an underlying problem, such as dermatitis.
----
Also, apply chapstick or honey on your lips before bed and when you wake up your lips will feel nice and moist.
When you brush your teeth brush your lips too to get off the dead skin. Don't brush too hard though. Right after apply some chapstick.
Apply chapstick as much as you want to keep your lips always moist.
Alot of websites say to apply petroleum jelly to your lips but doctors say not to because it contains some chemicals that suffocate your lips from getting the nutrients they need. Instead, use Vicks.

No, that will only make it worse, because deeper layers of skin will come off with the skin that you are peeling off. One thing that helps me is to just run the toothbrush over my lips a couple of times when I am brushing my teeth. That seems to get the pieces of skin that are peeling off pretty well. Then make sure you drink a lot of water and keep your lips protected with a good lip balm. I like Neutrogena. Leave your lips alone and they will heal. You might put a little Vaseline or something similar on there in the meantime.

So...after providing you with that relaxing little bit of information, i choose to advise Burt's Bees even however individually i take advantage of Aquaphor (that's like petroleum jelly and that i take advantage of it for each little thing!!!) and positioned it on earlier mattress and that i actually have a small tube in my bag basically in case! wish that facilitates!!!

I put carmex on my lips before bed. I'm a mouth breather when I sleep, and this has really cut down on the chapped lips.

No!!! That might be the worst thing you can do because you're just going to be exposing more skin and sores on your lips. My advice would be to keep applying a lip balm. The best lip balm in my experience is Carmex because it doesn't leave me with that weird waxy feeling and taste. https://mycarmex.com/lip-care/everyday-lip-balm
