Needs to hold 3 passengers on a usual basis.
Needs to be able to carry a hitch, for 2 quads and a dirtbike.
Needs to also hold a 150lb. hairy dog...

Good bet is Toyota, as they can be running good 10-20 years later, even 4x4's.
longer survival than most US made ones.
would recomend3/4 ton.
5 speed manual or 4 speed.

I have actually heard a lot of great things about the Jeep Compass. Brand new 2007 models start at just under $16,000. You upgrade some things and still get a great vehicle under $25,000. You might look at a diesel powered vehicle as well. The engines last forever.

KIA sorrento. We have had KIA minivans and love them. Can't beat the warranty and for the money they are a great bargain. I would at the very least talk to a KIA dealer.
