Boys enter puberty at an average age of 11 (one year later than girls) but may occur anytime between 9 to 14 years. The first sign of puberty in boys is enlargement of the testicles and a thinning and reddening of the scrotum(testicular area).

Part of the puberty affects a boy's voice. As the larynx (or voice box) enlarges and the muscles or vocal cords grow, the voice may "crack". This is a normal part of the growth process. Eventually the voice will change to a more permanent " adult male" deeper tone.

I don't know if you saw the news lately about young boys starting puberty early, or having breast development, etc.. It mentioned many bath products that cause this. The ones mentioned in the article include lavender and tree oils. I've pasted a link below.

I would suggest his getting evaluated by your pediatrician if you are worried. I think 12 is normal for puberty, but starting at 10-11 seems early.

It's becoming more common. Boys and girls are maturing earlier and earlier. 12-13 still seems to be average for boys, but 10 or 14 is not unusual, it seems. Yeah, if they aren't already masturbating, the hormones at puberty will usually nudge them into it. Spontaneous erections are hard for a boy to ignore.

If you're concerned, you can have your doctor check out your young man's endocrine system to be sure it's OK. I think it's either the pituitary or pineal gland (I get them confused) that triggers puberty, and there must be a test that shows whether the hormones they produce aren't running in overdrive.

Meanwhile, it's birds and bees time, dad.

it is not early, it is normal. he is going through it at the normal time so he is not late or early. it is also normal that he masturbates as long as he does not do it in front of others, with others, or talks about doing it. make sure that he knows that this is to be done in private and not for the world to know about. his voice will stop squeaking down the road. it is normal for him to do this. everyone deals with puberty in a different way. you just need to be there for him for love and support and to answer any questions that he may have. this is a tough time for kids. if you haven't had the sex talk with him, now would be an excellent time to do this. hope this helps. good luck.

boys and women basically improve in yet in a unique way. Boys fairly regularly benefit expertise of to stroll in the previous, women folk more often than not be experienced to speak previous, there are transformations of their suggestions structure and performance. There are causes for this stuff yet i dont imagine all of us understand for particular what the excuses are quite of they offer boys and women unique reproductive advantages. i imagine if boys went through technique of puberty as early as women folk that that they had be pushed to compete for associates at a youthful age and in yet another type of social placing that that they had continually lose out to the better, more beneficial historic adult men, that ought to set them up for failure later. it might properly be traditionally more beneficial advantageous for them to achieve sexual adulthood later, at the same time as they are higher and would more beneficial advantageous conflict for a mate or would have had more beneficial threat to achieve a higher position in words of their social status. women folk nonetheless do no longer would want to compete for associates, so there is not any longer any reason to elongate puberty. the previous ladies initiate having children, the more beneficial they may well be in a position to have. i wager. Im basically making this up proper now. Sorry!

it is considered a bit early , but its ok and normal.

as a parent u have to make sure that his brain is amture anough to cope with his newly developed body.

and im not just talking about sex education, even self esttem may be a problem aspecially if he is the only one in class who has got the hairs and the squeeky voice.

however boys who develop early tend to have higher self esteem than girls who mature early and also tend to do better at school
