india is a huge country with traditions north indians food is oily while south is less , east and west is a mixture of both but its not much oily but its spicy.

Again, this depends on how you cook. Many Indian dishes require that you fry the masala (the spice paste that forms the base of the dish) in some oil. The popular belief is that the more oil you use to fry the masala, the better the taste. Personal experience has shown me though, that you can make a dish just as tasty with half the oil!
For those of you that care about the amount of it (and who doesn’t!!), all the recipes on my site already use the least possible oil that you can get away with!

No, Indian food is not oily generally because it is full of taste it is not necessary that you should eat oily food hence Indian food is not oily

Indian people Cooked food in 2 ways,fried or non fried.In festive season we Cook fried or oily recipes in our kitchen normally we don't.
