There are two songs that asks your question, what is love? And both songs do not come to any conclusion.

Love is complex that's for sure. But it's quite remarkable in that it starts from simplicity: two people's attraction to each other.

The attraction isn't the love, nor is the passion they give to each other. Love is the deep understanding between two people that, over a long period time only keeps on growing trustfully.

Love is always doomed when one side becomes distrustful or egotistical and controlling.

I think love really is nothing more than the last people you think of before you die. Whoever would give a dying soul comfort in passing has to be the purpose of love: to make one pass away without regret.

I guess it depends on the "Love" in which you are asking. I would easily say a propaganda idea placed by Hallmark, and other companies.
But I have tremedous love for my children. It is a feeling that there is nothing I wouldnt do for them. A feeling that I would give my life for them. A feeling that if one of them were gone, I fear my life would be meaningless.
The same goes for my parents and siblings. I have not had feelings like that for a man. Though it has gotten close, but I dont think love between people that are not related by blood, (excluding adoption, as I am adopted and love my parents dearly, as much as I love my children) is not quite as strong. But I may be wrong, obviously with my track record I am no expert on the matter.

Love is the most amazing thing on earth....it is not really a feeling(it can be) but is more an act of ur will. Love is patient,love is kind, it doesn't envy nor boast......LOVE is an awesome thing...
