If you cared about brandon or his feelings you wouldnt care about this other guy. Since you do, tell Brandon that you think he's great, but you just feel like the two of you would be better friends than lovers. And that you dont want to ruin any future friendship you could have with him. If all else fails, just stop talking to him. Why not? You're willing to cut him loose anyway, so...

If you dump Brandon, are you prepared to lose him possibly forever just to be with this other guy? If Brandon is so wonderful, maybe you should stay with him and let this other guy chill in the wings. What does this other guy have that is so appealing that you would dump a good guy? Think about this long and hard before you act.
