Sorry to appear rude, but the real answer is this:
A pig reared for bacon is no different to one reared for pork BUT a porker is killed at 60 - 75 kilos and a baconer at 86 - 104 kilos - so as you can see most of the answers so far are sheer guesswork and wrong! SORRY ! ! !

Both pork and bacon come from a pig - they are just different cuts of the meat. Pork may be cooked from fresh meat or cured over time. Cured meat products include ham and bacon
Bacon is any of certain cuts of meat taken from the sides, back or belly of a pig, cured and possibly smoked.

Isn't it all the same animal? Maybe different areas of the same animal, just like different cuts of beef come from different areas of the same cow. Or. at least, that's what I'd always thought.
