It's in the genes
Red heads usually, have skin,
that is low in melanin,
Melanin protects us ,
from the harmful suns rays .
This is why their skin is more sensitive
The peppery temperament,
is often noticed in redheads !
Why I really don't know ,
It is wise NOT to ask !!!!
LOL!

The first answer is correct. I must remind you though, as a 'redhead' gets older and the silver haired are exposed to the sun, the skin does not alter its characteristics and a good sunscreen must still be in the 'armoury'.
