I'm an college freshman, and there's a girl in my English class I'm strongly attracted to. It's been about 2 weeks since the class started. I've had a crush on her since the first day of class; I am a complete sucker for eyes, and she has the prettiests eyes I've ever seen. At first, I sat across from the girl. She looked at me quite often when I used to sit across from the girl. I wasn't sure if I could take that as a sign of her interest, but I started sitting next to her last week. Since then, I have made some progress little by little. Since she's not outgoing, it has been quite hard for me to initiate a conversation. In each of the last two classes, I asked her one question. For example, she brought a pretty coffee mug, so I asked her where she got it, and then our conversation ended. Today, however, I initiated a conversation after class by talking about her research topic. We talked for just about two to three minutes, but (please read additional information as well)

now I feel that I can talk to her more casually. This girl is my dream girl; she's pretty, articulate, intelligent, and classy. I really really want to make the dream come true lol. I gotta do everything right. So I would like to get some constructive advice from ppl with a lot of dating experiences.
One more thing. Valentine's Day is coming up, and I am worried if some other dude will make a move on that day. Since the girl and I don't know each other too well, I think it will be very weird to do something special, but what's the least I can do?

I would leave a Valentines day card on her desk.. You can put your email address and pone number on it. Since she likes coffee, invite her out to Barnes and Noble to drink some Starbucks and talk about your class.
