I'm interested to know if anyone refuses to have/use a microwave in their kitchen-apart from not having one due to financial cost-and why

I have one and I use it almost every day.
My parents never got one, but not because of financial reasons (mom is a doctor, dad is engineer, both with decent salaries). They were too scared of cancer and radiation, and now they're just used to not having one.

My aunt refuses tobuy a microwave.Especially after hearing about how microwaves increases the likelyhood of cancer. No matter how convenient. It's weird.

My grandparents didn't have one because they were afraid it would leak radiation and firmly believed that no matter what, personally I have no such qualms and use it alot. Not to cokk ususally, but to thaw, make popcorn, stuff like that.

I have one, it's a cheap piece of crap! It was given to me when I first moved out on my own...and I hardly use it because it's very unreliable.
