Am elusification is a combination of water and oil to form a suspension (the oil particles are suspended throughout the water).

Think of salad dressing - a vinegarette. You start with vinegar, add a bit of water and then slowly add the oil while stirring till it gets all creamy. When it gets to that creamy stage, it has emulsified.

Hand creams and body lotions are all emulsions - blended water and oil suspensions.
