Here's the IRS Efile Refund Chart so you can check to see when you efile and when to expect a direct deposit:

They will not update their status webpage on their website until early Tuesday morning....and since they are working on their refund site until Monday, I would check and see the status of my refund again on Tuesday morning when it will be updated and back up and running again.
If you are talking about just submitting an efile return on the weekend, you can submit them anytime and then check the IRS website to see if they are processing it. It usually takes 2 days after you efile to get status info though so be patient.
