What's wrong... This is what they are trained for.
BTW, whole US is like that.

The Marine Corps is able to accept the few, the proud , the Marines, yet at the same time dismiss those who shame the Corps as bad apples. The Texas tower shootings were the work of a former Marine, Whitman was his name. The infamous Lee Harvey Oswald was yet another who the Corps can claim as one of their own.
I doubt that either of these men shined very brightly in the Marine Corps. Without knowing, I would be willing to wager a bet that shows these two clowns as undesirables and being asked to leave the Corps.
Anyone as judgmental as you should know better than to point fingers when accusations are thrown around. Presently, Pepe is accused of sex crimes in Cambodia, yet are there credible witnesses, or has he been convicted of anything. I believe it would be wise to hold judgment until the other shoe drops.

Because of Belleau Wood, Tarawa, Guadalcanal, Khe San, The Frozen Chosin, Fallujah and a bunch more places.
Because the raise their right hands and swear out an oath to loyally obey their orders even if they don't agree with the politics behind those orders. They just die back to back fulfilling them.
Because they would have kicked Capt. Michael Joseph Pepe *** for raping little cambodian girls.
Because they earned cool nicknames like jarhead, devil dogs, and leathernecks.
Because they know what Semper Fidelis means and they live like it.
Because the worst things they usually do is drink too much, break stuff, get in fist fights with sailors and ppl from the army and AF, throw up in public from over-inbibing on alcohol now and then, and say too many curse words.

Because they are selfless people who work hard to defend this country. Thier personal lives don't undermine what they do for America. And you said he's being accused? So we don't even know if he did it. Obviously he should be punished if he is guilty, but that doesn't take away from the fact that he defended this country. Not all people in the armed forces are good people, but for you to ask such a rediculous question is absolutely disgraceful. Everyone should be proud of Marines as well as all branches of the military, and people who aren't are terrible Americans. That is not an exaggeration

did you seriously ask this question based on the actions of one person?
i am proud of the united states marines because they are in iraq fighting a war. they don't have to be over there, but everyday more people volunteer to help fight for a country where all people do is ask questions about why we support them. at least you have the freedom to post this question without facing some kind of consequence from our government.

Miscreants are in all walks of life as you prove.
I am proud of the United States Marines because of what they do for our country.
Is there any reason that you would post such a question other than to attempt to insult Marines?
You can try all you want to insult them with your subversive remarks but you will never impugn the integrity of the USMC.
You are by no means erudite.

He can be proud to be a Marine but I doubt if the Marines are proud of him. One bad apple does not spoil the whole basket and for you to paint all Marines as bad on this basis is so wrong I can't even use the words I would like to use on you. I am the daughter, aunt, and sister of Marines and I could not be prouder of them and the job they have done and continue to do. You have the right to say what you want because they defended to the death your right to say it. God Bless the United States and all of her armed forces.

I am proud of them because these men and women are the proud, the elite few, the Marines. The Marines stick to such high standards. I feel honored that they do so much for us with little fanfare or todo for them, just business as usual for them. Unfortunately, only a few rotten apples are brought up. You are going to have rotten apples in everything. Most of the Marines are honorable, respectful people.

First, you're talking about a SINGLE retired guy who engaged in criminal behavior... using YOUR logic, should we demonize ALL males from the State of Arkansas or ALL male Democrats based on the criminal sexual history of ONE Arkansas Democrat ??
Even though I'm a retired SQUID and love picking on my Marine brothers and sisters... I AM proud of the Corps !! I guarantee you ACTIVE and RETIRED Marines who hear about this ONE individual are disgusted with HIS behavior and the stain he has placed on the title of "Marine"...
I recall an incident on the USS Kitty Hawk in mid October 1996... the Kitty Hawk's first WestPac with a compliment of female shipmates aboard: A sick individual sexually assaulted a female in an officers shower... the CO announced this assault over the 1MC at about 11pm... and had to ORDER the ships crew NOT to form "search" parties to find this @ssh0le... and to warn this guy to turn himself in THEN AND THERE. If left to the ships crew, this sort of behavior would have had the criminal trussed like a pig for delivery to the Master-at-Arms for a SHORT trial and execution of punishment.

I am proud because they do as they are told and might even love the work, but sometimes their will be bad apples just like the civilians. The people that but them in harms way I have a problem with.
