And is it good?

I currently have upgraded my laptop to vista business. It is ok. I can see some improvements over xp. It is a little nicer to work with and networking is a breeze. But it is memory hungry and does run the cpu a lot more then xp. I have noticed that pre built systems with vista seem to run smoother. My best guess is that is because they have the correct components in it. Whereas I am still waiting on drivers etc. I will probably stick with it for now. But anyone who has an xp machine I think from my experience should wait it out. The upgrade is not as smooth as you would think and a lot of things are still awaiting drivers.

Not I and here's the reason. Recently at the college I attend we were assigned to perform a Powerpoint presentation on a Gothic artwork. A classmate had upgraded his computer to Office 2007 and Vista. The school is still running XP and Office 2003. The computer would not recognize his Powerpoint and he received a 0 on a 200 pt project from the teacher. I'll upgrade once the school upgrades.

I'm using it.
I'm using Windows Vista Ultimate.
There are a lot of unique features like Windows Aero*** (glass like borders) , Flip3D*** (see the opened windows through a perspective view), Sidebar, and alot of advantages like Windows Ultimate Extras* (Only with Windows Vista Ultimate) which contains Windows Dreamscene* [Motion Desktop], Hold'em Poker Game*, and BitlockerDrive Encryption*. The user interface is more friendly, and it is easy to use for beginners.

With this version u'll have
- Windows Media Center*
- Windows DVD Maker**
- Extra Premium Games such as Chess Titans, Mahjong Titans and Inkball*
- Windows Ultimate Extras**
- HD Support for Windows Movie Maker and DVD Maker*

* Windows Vista Home Premium and Ultimate only

i have just replaced my vista beta with vista premium, which in my opinion is the best all round version for general use
i say this based on price and functionality,as vista premium has the aero effects were vista basic dosent, and also premium has the 3d tilt function were basic dosent
premium cost £150 from pc world and basic is £79 from the same store
vista ultimate has some added extras but for a average p.c user they wont notice much of a difference
you will probally notice in p.c magazines ect that vista premium is the version of choice for most p.c manufacturers,as it gives you the best vista experience at the best price
it is good, but dont beleive all the hype,i only got it as i had the beta dual booted with xp and i dont want to have to mess around with my partitions when the beta runs out
i dont have the option to buy it online but if you do and are planning to buy it here is the link to the best price for premium...http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=527301,this is a o.e.m version but all that means its designed for system builders, and you get less of a warranty and service than the full products but if you are a advanced user(3years p.c use or longer) this wont be a problem
allways get o.e.m products if you can,it can save you a lot of money,i recently got a xp home o.e.m for £39
good luck

I'm using vista and its quite hard to use. the tool bars are small but the good thing is that vista has lots of in built programs like "Windows DVD Maker", but the bad thing is that you can't use cracked copys of programs, keygens and patch programs. The one im using is Home Premium, it seems like there is a lot of people using that version.

i am on windows vista home premium and it is OK.

have had a few problems, and still cannot get some hardware to work, but it isn't too bad.

well overpriced though, and it won't let you install on a second system, unless you pay AGAIN!

no wonder bill gates is rich. he is a total tosser.
