Everytime I get out of my car it shocks me when I close the door. What can be causing that?

Because some women like "the Shocker".

seriously though it is a static build up discharge when you touch a metal surface. Be careful when you are filling you gas in you car since you are pron to this. It could cause the vapors to ignite.

It's just static electricity, which is more prevalent in the winter months because of the lower humidity in the air.

The onlyway not to be shocked by the car is to hold onto the car door while you're getting out (before your feet touch the ground) and then let go. In other words, don't get out of the car not holding onto the car and touch the ground.

at least you are not in AZ. People sliding across the seat (causing static electricity) while pumping gas spontaneously caught fire.
