I agree that the Sabbath starts Friday sunset and ends Sat. @ sunset. At one time I didn't. It was my own self studying that brought about the knowledge of the Sabbath. My studying and the convicting power of the Holy Spirit that is.
We are warned in the Bible about following the traditions of men rather than God. It is because of this following worldly traditions that brought about the worshiping on the first day of the week Sunday.
Many believe that every day should be kept holy and that it doesn't matter which day you go to church. This is not at all Biblical. As all through holy people including Christ kept the Sabbath and maintained a holy life through the other days of the week.
Most people do not recognize the fact that God created the Sabbath day and He personally named it Sabbath. He sanctified that day which means to set aside for holy use. He blessed it as well. Humans seem to believe they can unsanctify what God sanctifies and believe they can unbless something he blesses.
God does not control our minds and does not force us to do what He asks. He graciously allows us to make our own choices right or wrong. And we in turn make our minds up to what we believe things should be. We choose to go the way popular to man for mans approval.
Keeping the Sabbath is not something we can force people to accept. We can inform and then allow them to make their own choices without judging.
I can never stress it enough that it is the relation ship between the person and God that will open doors of truth. And through that relationship choose to do what would please God.
And Happy Sabbath

Careful study of the Sabbath will help you to understand the meaning of God's holy day. We understand that God does not tire therefore the idea that God himself needed rest is not the understanding he was trying to communicate. The Sabbath is the 7th day and we understand the to be his rest. It is also called the day of the lord. His kingdom. To enter in to God's rest is to enter in to the kingdom of God. This will help you to better understand it's meaning the Sabbath as a covenant with man that God will sustain us and those who endure to the end will be saved. When man was giving the law it was to represent the things that were holy and is a physical representation of spiritual things. Many people began to worship the law forgetting God who was the meaning behind the law it is the reason the sons of Abrham did not recognize the Son of God when they met him...It is the reason that did not recognize the fufillment of these laws in him. We kept the Sabbath and we kept the sacrifices but we missed the understanding of these things...It is the spiritual meanings that we need to keep...it is the spiritual understanding that we need not simply worshiping God through traditions and cerimonies..The sacrifices were to represent the atonement that was to come so was the Sabbath and the cleanliness laws these things represent that which was to come and has come. Those who have accepted the atonement have these things fufilled by Jesus. We by faith are now made new and have entered his Sabbath. Here is an anaology consider we have left the light on in waiting for the Messiah...Now hr has come should we leave the light on as if he has never come? We should demonstrate the fact that he has come by revealing to the world the change that his sacrifice did make we no longer worship only in ceremony and traditions and law but now we worship in spirit and truth having been made new by faith we are new creatures.

Every day is the Lord's day and some do worship on Saturday. Others found Sunday to be a good day to fellowship and worship on Sunday. As Christians, we should all worship every day. How do you account for services that are held on Wednesday or some other day at church? Should we not gather in His name because God said to remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy? I don't think He meant for us to ONLY remember the Sabbath. He also warned us not to forsake the gathering of ourselves together and did not limit us to how or when. What about gatherings at someones home for worship and study? Should we only do these things on the Sabbath? Lets not get all caught up in formalities and rules concerning such trivial issues as this and get busy doing the real work, telling others about His love for us and how that is a benefit of one who believes in Him. A day in the week is like any other, but God is like none other! He has power over all!

A sabbath is one day in seven to rest. The Jews choose Saturday. Jesus rose on the first day of the week (Sunday) so the disciples and early church chose Sunday to meet for worship. Whether you go to church on a Saturday or a Sunday (or everyday of the wee) is not the issue because Jesus said that He is Lord of the sabbath. We don't need to be legalistic about the day as long as we honor Him with our lives and worship in spirit and in truth. Is your heart right with God?

Sunday was established as the Lord's day by the Holy Roman Empire. As the centuries went by and people started reading the bible on their own, they discovered several boo boos such as the one you're discribing. The problem is that the laws are all based on the beliefs and canons of the Catholic Church. It would be very difficult to undo Saturdays and trade it with Sunday. Fini

:) First of all, it is holy, not "holly." Holly is a plant and a girl's name. Holy is from the Hebrew word pronounced "kodesh" and means set apart!
:D
The Jews kept Saturday as they should have up to the point of the New Testament church. In the book of Acts (New Testament) the church met everyday, but some churches made a habit of meeting on the day of Christ's resurrection. The New covenant that Christ made with His church changed many rules: we can eat ham (and I'm soooo glad!), we don't need a physical temple to worship in, we don't need a priest, and we don't need to meet for worship on Saturday! (cf. Acts 20:7; 1Cor 16:2) Because it was the day of Christ's resurrection and appearance to the Disciples, it was called the "Lord's Day" (Rev. 1:10)
The New Testament book of Hebrews makes it clear that Christ himself is our sabbath (cf. chapter 4).

First of all, I think that you mean holy, instead of holly.
Saturday was the Lord's Day of the Old Covenant. Sunday is the Lord's day of the new covenant. It was on Sunday that Christ rose from the dead and it was on Sunday that Pentecost took place and the Church was born, and so with the blood of the "new and everlasting covenant" we commemorate Sunday as the day of the Lord's Resurrection, by which we are renewed.

Ok .. Sunday is the first day of the week. We Christians are of the New covenant and meet on the first day of the week, The Priest and Pastors and all the servants that work at the church will have another day for a sabbath because they work on Sunday. It boggles my mind that a group of Believers such as the Seventh Day Adventist who are searching the Bible so rigorously miss the 50+ references Jesus makes to this very subject. Believe as you wish.

the bible is easy yet complicated. There are some factors that we will not agree on, yet there are others that are extremely sparkling. 'interior the start God created..' 'For God so enjoyed the worldwide that he gave his in basic terms begotten son that whosoever believes in him shall no longer perish yet have eternal existence.' 'The lifeless understand no longer something.' those verses are right away forward, they're extremely sparkling, you won't besides the indisputable fact that consider them although. Now to appreciate some thing like the mark of the beast, would be extremely complicated. maximum persons if no longer all can no longer in basic terms %. up the Bible and consider it and are conscious of all of it. there are various components which would be truly understood, yet different components will take important learn.

We do know the holy day was changed from Saturday to Sunday during the Roman Emperor Constantine's time. The Da Vinci Code states that this was during a fusion of certain pagan and Christian traditions to create a 'hybrid' religion acceptable to all. The pagans' holy day of sun worship, or Sunday, then became the Christians' holy day. Mind you, I wouldn't swallow this story whole, and besides I don't think God would care what day you worship Him, so long as you do.
