If she is indeed "leaving" her husband she first needs to seek a lawyer. Record his phone conversations and give the recordings to the lawyer, the lawyer can then take them into court so that the judge knows what a threat he is to her.

the police need to know what is happening. she needs to make sure she has someone with her at all times as a protection. get her to change all her numbers and only give new numbers to family and family that will definetly not pass them on to her husband. Any messages he has sent her she needs to keep as evidence in order to get a restraining order put on him. if he continues to be a knob. get him in court and prosecuted!
