from my experience, it is a comforting thing to them. they are used to sleeping closely with their mother and are used to the noise. they do grow out of it most of the time...i went through it with all 3 of my cats.

Do you mean the boy kitty is 3 months and 3.5 weeks old? Or just 3.5 weeks? They don't really have great motor control or mobility until at least 4 weeks. As for the sleeping on your face issue - cats like warmth, and they like you. They get both of those things by sleeping on you. If you really want it to stop you can try sleeping in a position where it's uncomfortable for them to sleep on you - for example, on your side by a wall - or you can just keep them out of your room at night. PS: If they are both almost 4 months it would be good have at least one of them fixed within the next month. Cats can become sexually mature as early as 16 weeks.

I have had many cats. THis has only happened recently with one of my 9 month old cats. He has to curl up in my face. It drives me crazy. If he's far enough away from my nose, I do enjoy listening to him purr. But, mostly he tries to get his face right in my face. It drives me crazy.
If I turn the other way, he does the same. I try to get him under my chin instead of in my face and it's fine. I have never experienced this with any other cat in my life.
I just don't understand why he needs to be in my face. Most sleep in between my my legs, beside me, or at the bottom of my bed. that I can handle. But, in my face drives me crazy.

I don't have a cat that does this but my 3 month old puppy does and he also likes to sleep on my shoulder. It just means that they are the most comfortable when they are close to you and i think they also like to hear you breathe as it comforts them. It gets quite annoying as my puppy also likes to sleep on my pillow with his head on my cheek!! You should be happy that they feel so comfortable with you. They can tell that you care for them.

This is her spot to be near you. Where she is most comfortable. I have one that sits beside me. The other is around the top of my head with the face in my hair. Boo has to sleep on one of my legs.
You have it easy. I wake up and can not move.

Your kitty is telling you that he feels comfortable and secure around you. My 5 month old kitty does the same thing to me. I love waking up to a half a kitty face. LOL

Cats are known for this, and they don't grow out of it! I think they like the sound of us breathing, maybe it's warmer?
