The reason you can't give kids under age 1 honey is NOT because they can't digest it - it is because of the risk of botulism. Botulism is often present in honey, and while it doesn't pose a risk to older children and adults, it can pose a risk to small babies.

are you talking about the waffles that already come tasting like honey? If so, check the ingredients because I believe it is only "honey flavoring" and not actual honey. If it is synthetic there is no risk of botulism and it would be perfectly safe. If it's made with real honey however, wait till one year.

Isn't there a difference in the honey used for that kind of stuff. processed honey as compared to raw honey. I agree with the other answerer, raw honey shouldn't be given to a very young child because of possible bacterial contamination.

After a year old you can give your kids honey. Its actually very good for them. If they are younger than one years of age, give them other things than honey flavored. There are so many things without honey.
