There is no hate without anger, as there is no jealousy without fear, and there is no fear without anger there, too. I concur with you when you mention the amount "hate, bigotry, condemnation, judgement, etc," in the Holy Bible. But I always thought these were there to teach us that these traits can be part of our nature, but that we are able to surmount these restrictions and obstacles by living a "Christ-like Life". We can not learn about the wonderful aspects of Light without having some exposure to the Dark. I'd rather have the Dark explained to me as it is in the Bible rather than have experience it firsthand, if I had my druthers. :-)
Such is not always the case, is it?
I am a Christian that has long ago given up on the idea of taking the Bible literally, yet I will take the words and teachings of Jesus Christ, as the Pagan inside me suggests, for wasn't JC, Himself, pretty much a Pagan at heart? (Oh, I hear the drums now! Shall I run or stand my ground? Do you know what a real pagan believes?)
I think the Bible does a great job of "Good Cop/ Bad Cop" routine in that God can be mean and rotten and whatever He wants as the need arises, whereas His 'Only Begotten Son' (means Man born of Woman), is where we find the Peace and the Love and the Understanding to get through the life we are destined to lead.
(Did I really need to toss destiny into this mix?)
I can't take the Good Book too literally for a number of reasons. The main reason, for me, is that there have been too many hands holding pens, and the mind behind those hands may have had his own agenda. Or he may have been, simply put, a piss-poor translator.
Prayer or meditation works for me when I have a Scriptural question.
The Bible, though not to be taken too literally or too frequently, is a great resource for a great many subjects. But I can not call it the "Owner's Manual for Life", as some do.
Thanks and have a Blessed Day!

Not the book is the problem but the people who think they know what it means. And those who belief that god wrote it(LOL).
If you read the bible with the understanding that alot of mans hates and fears went into it, you can see beyond those bad things and find some interresting facts. Same goes for the Quaran, great book but got a bad image at the moment.
Maybe the two books need a PR manager to get ratings up again.

It might help if you understood the Bible. The Bible teaches that vengeance belongs to a righteous God who in place of judging you came to this world to pay the penalty for you with his blood. The only people who misinterpret the Bible are those who do not know God. the Bible can be understood by taking the time to know god and his word is absolutely holy and is all about salvation and love. The fact that you think god's word is about hate and bigotry condemnation intolerance ...shows that there is a missing ingredient in you not in the word of God. As far as judgment goes it is in agreement with God's righteousness and there is no problem with a righteous judgment but the fact does remain that the penalty of that judgment was paid by a loving God. Seems to me the problem with many who do not understand his word is that they themselves seek to judge rather than seek the truth.

Yes the bible is to blame. People dont realize you cant find God through a book. The book doesnt even say anything about God. People dont study religion and there for they are totally confused.
You dont know anything if you have only studied one corner of the earth,a square, religion, or Yourself. In my mind Christianity is the perfect way of spreading stupidity and a narrow mind to all people. Kinda like college. Today you pick a field and the what you want to do in that field. They dont train you on everything. Just that field. Kinda like christianity. The only thing you learn about is Jesus, which is the modified version of the Sun God or Sun of God. Jesus, THE SUN OF GOD. Heaven is the sky. And ffor the most part most of laws in the bible are based upon old israelian laws.

It seems to me that the Bible gives an accurate portrayal of mankind...and that is why it describes hate and condemnation and bigotry and intolerance and jealousy and such.
the Bible is full of examples of God's overwhelming love and great patience with a really rotten people! It seems appropriate that you (a member of mankind!) would point out the bad and make a big stink about it. Looks like the Bible has folks like you pegged perfectly.
One more point...how many hosptials bear the name of a Christian sect or person? How many hospitials embrace secular ideas alone?

You tell me what does intelligence and being opened minded have to do with your salvation?!! YOU CAN'T!! You can't compare the two. That's stupid! God's manual for life is about how to live in love and truth and faith through His Word His will and His ways in order to enter God's Kingdom! God's truth condemns those who are rebellious and live in Lawlessness of His Commandments. You are living the ways of Satan. You are living the ways of the world of which Satan is the "god" of. The People who live in darkness (spiritually blind) are slaves to sin and don't even know it! The "world" is telling you it's OK! "keep wallowing in your cesspool of morally corruptive behavior, it's OK. It must be OK because it "feels good" and we all do it"! The wages of sin is death. If you sincerely seek the truth you will find it. Knowing the truth and living in the light of the truth is living in freedom from sin. You are then no longer deceived by the evil one and have found TRUE love, joy, peace and happiness that will last for eternity. A TRUE Christian does not judge or condemn anyone. The light of the truth they live by does.

Indoctrination right into a faith effectively palms administration of your strategies and deeds to an outdoors corporation. With the Christians as an occasion, you do as you're informed or you are not getting the mansion you have been promised in heaven once you die. If the corporation that represents the mythical being`god` or `Jesus` says `hate gays` `hate Muslims` or `don`t devour plums` then you definately will hate gays, hate Muslims and sidestep the plum section on the food market. as an occasion, the President of the u . s ., performing via fact the agent for the Christian supernatural entities, proclaimed to the Christians of his usa that "god informed me to invade Eye-Rack (present day-day Iraq)" and that they invaded Iraq fairly willingly on that premise. Is it human nature to hate ? confident, i think of that's, yet purely in specific circumstances, that's particularly basic for the leaders of your usa, sect or cult to instil those motives of hate once you have been indoctrinated to have faith that what that chief says is genuine. Which to be common, isn't a confusing element of do, extremely while a similar definitely everyone seems to be in cost of coaching you interior the 1st place.

Are you Christian? I don't think so. I don't mean to offend but if you would ACTUALLY read the bible then you would see it talks about how we shouldn't act and about how much God loves everyone. Even if you don't believe he still loves you because your still one of his children and that comment about homosexuality. In the bible it never says that being gay is bad it says engaging in homosexual activity like "gay sex" is bad so you can be gay just don't have any intimate relationships with others. You can even love another man just like i said don't have intimacy stuff. If this sounds dumb to those couples then maybe they shouldn't be together if they are only together for the sex. I'm catholic and I'm not really offended because Christians are much more strict and they "take the meaning on the bible to the ***" but well that's just my opinion and as a Catholic i was raised to not take the literal meaning of the bible but the spiritual meaning. Well I'm sorry if i offended anyone and yeah....

I did not find any hate in the Bible, but love only.
"hate, bigotry, condemnation, judgement, intolerance, and jealousy" have nothing to to with God or the Bible.

The Bible is both literal and figurative.
While it true that the majority of those that espouse the Bible have taken much of it and twisted it, they do not themselves even realize how they have locked up it's simplicity from themselves and others.
The Bible is no more to blame than for hatred than any writings.
People, are to blame for their intolerance of each other.
I believe that an almighty god should have enough power, so that he does not require myself or any other human to go therefore and assist him in executing his judgment.
