i heard from everybody, even my lovely cab driver, the memory foam is comfortable (at first/or beginning of the night), but you wake up with a Terrible backache because they're Too Soft!!!! save up for a numbers bed, they're the best, the next best would be a pillowtop mattress, they take an odd sheet to fit though

I have a pillow top and just bought a memory foam pad about 4 inches thick on top of it. At first I didn't like it, but now we have the best sleep ever. It isn't warm at all, in the summer its supposed to be even cooler. But because its a pad, I can turn it over once or twice a month. However for a total mattress I wouldn't buy it.
It would be too cumbersome to turn over. With the number bed I would try it out first, check the Ramada Inns, they have rooms with number beds and you can try it for a night or so.
And yes for the pillowtop you need fitted sheets with 16 inch corners to fit properly.

Get the best of both worlds. Buy a good mattress and a memory foam pad for on top of it.

The memory foam holds heat, so the matress stays really warm. I wouldnt be able to stand it, but some people might like that. I have the pillow top matress, and love it.
