My sister and her family had to live with me for 9 months.I supported everything for four other people other than the small unemployment check that her husband purchased some food with. Are tyer any dedeuctions our there for me in ths situstion?

The link below is a good place to start. The point is that you do not just have to count income but other means of support such as your sisters savings. This is not a simple area and you may want to consult a tax-experienced CPA this year.

You can claim everyone of them. The problem is going to be are they talking about claiming themselves. Or rather is the husband planning on claiming them. Probably. And unless you make less than I think 36000, they would get a whole lot more back for the kids since they probably didn't make over that. "qualifing for earned income credit". But they would have had to have some sort of regular income to qualify for earned income credit as well. You could ask them to compromize and give you one of the kids so they are not totally out of the income tax loop.
You though can claim them all as long as you do it before they do and you have proof they aren't paying into their own living exspenses of at least 51%.

u can claim them as dependant if no one else is claiming incl her husband
