She has an appointment with the vet, in the morning {Tuesday}, but I was just wondering if anyone has had that problem with their dog, and if you know what it is. She's had it for two days.

I just got through treating this same condition I do not know what it is but I went to Petsmart and got some doggie anti -bacterial salve and used that .It is similar to Neosporin for humans and I put it on him at bedtime and it cleared up in about 2 weeks.I don't know where he picked it up and his sister with whom he's with 20/7 she did not get it .It looked like some type of bacterial infection.Try the doggie anti-bacterial cream/salve give it a couple of weeks if it doesn't clear up take him to the vet. Also you can take your dogs in alot of pet stores and the employees there are usually pretty knowledgeable about things .The guy who recommended that I buy what I did went on description alone and he said it sounds like ----- and he was right but that doesn't mean it will help your doggie but try it it may clear it up.Also before my dogs ears cleared up they turned scabby and I just kept putting on the cream and while I would be rubbing it in I would rub the scabs slightly harder to try to get them to fall off but they did not always do that but once you get the cream on and soften up the scabs they will and this gives the cream a chance to get to the actual skin .I hope this too can work for your puppy, you know they can get into everything so it's no telling what may have triggered this.Good Luck

I don't have a dog, but the same thing happened with my hedgehog. They said her skin was dry, and she was scraching to get dandruf off. She was tearing up her ears when she would scrach those. I put Neosporn on an they are better. Probably shouldn't do that to a dog unless you know it's not a bigger problem like mites.

It is good to hear you have a vet appt. I would agree with putting a TSD of antibacterial cream on them, even better if it is antibacterial with anti itch. a dog i fostered had some similar conditions one time, it turned out he had ear mites and got a skin infection from scratching them raw. He had the condition when i got him (rescue dog) and the vet game him ear mite drops and Animax (animal skin cream perscription) and he was fine in a week or so. If it is ear mites, when you put the drops in his ears, kinda hold them closed for like 30 seconds after the drops are applied bc my dog like to shake his head and the drops flew everywhere too bc they hadnt got down in his ears to absorb yet! GOOD LUCK

try some neosporin on those ears might not solve the problem but it will make her more comfortable until she sees the vet

It sounds like she either has had frost bite, or she mite have ear mites... (tho not sure why they would be tearing!) if you touch them does she wince? or cry?

do you have other pets that might be using her ears as a chew toy?
