Certainly not before 16.

Age on its own, ,however, is not a clear certificate for dating. Sense and sensibility, as well as responsibility are the most important ingredients for dating or being dated.

All the best!

I think the proper dating age is when the child feels that they are mature enough to commit themselves to one person for a certain period of time. If they're 12, and they feel that they are mature enough to be with someone else, then they should be fine. If they just want a boy/girlfriend for the sake of having one, or because they're 'hot', then they're not ready. That's just a sign that they just want some fun, not a commitment. Sometimes, depending on the person, it can take until they are about 18 years old to determine whether or not they think they are ready for a relationship. I'm 17 now, and there's still a part of me that thinks I'm too young to be dating, even though my parents would let me date almost anyone I want.

It's a matter of whether or not they are (or feel) mature enough to date someone.
