I was supposed to receive mine 2/9/07 also. There was some sort of delay with the IRS releasing the monies to HSBC Bank. They in turn will deposit your money into your account once it is received. Call HSBC Bank at 1-800-365-0233. The automated system will prompt you for your SS# and will give you your info. But being that 2/9 fell on a Friday, you may not see the money in your account until Monday...the next business day. At least thats what I am hoping. Good Luck!!

If you went to a paid preparer like Jackson Hewitt or HR Block and received a bank product. It may take a few days for the deposit to reach your bank. It would go to the company bank first, have your fees deducted and the remainder would be sent to your bank. You should also check with your bank to determine how long it takes for funds to be available after a wire transfer. Sometimes it can take a few days from the time they get it for it to be posted in your account.

The IRS is having computer problems. See the link below. Don't hold your breath. I'm not banking on getting mine next week.

Personally, I think we should all write to our Congressmen and ask them why they allowed tax legislation to sit around all year and then pass it after the forms have gone to print and the computer programs have been tested and implemented. While we're at it, we might also ask them why they denied the IRS money to hire more employees to work on collections but have done nothing to stop the IRS contracting that work out to private firms at several times the cost of doing it in-house.

The date a refund is suppose to clear is not a promised date. It can take longer in many cases depending on when you filed and when the IRS processes your return.

You can check the status of your refund by contacting the IRS.
