What is the root cause of all evil? How can we avoid all Evil?

If we start believing in what medical science has to say, we are in a big trap. It constantly keeps saying that we are evolving and we need to evolve. If we start absolutely believing that then we are going to end up constantly competing against each other opening up all bad faculties of humanity like getting egocentric, hatred, jealousy and all other evil. We cannot help much there. Our core belief is to become materially successful. If we don't compete others would take it over and you would look like a loser to yourself. Which nobody wants to be. This is all because we believe that we are physical bodies.
If we started believing that we are not physical bodies but are souls like what all religions suggest, then our motives and actions will be working towards that. Then there is no fight against each. This is because the same soul that is in you is also in others. What you fight against? Your own self.
Can someone give a solution to destroy all the evil without religion?

Dane spade: I am sorry. I should have termed it biological sciences rather than medical science. But it is very trivial thing. Point is lots of people believe that we are bodies. Which is totally wrong. It should be rather put this way. Body is just a vehicle for our us. If we evolve in our thinking body automatically evolves too. There is no dispute. I can prove the conspiracy of science on one thing. You seem to be a science student. Tell me what is the 'mind'. And how it got it's name. If you do some research you will find that mind is an unseen entity which rules the brain. I would say scientists have termed soul as
mind. Because science doesn't want to accept what many religious scripts say, they simply choose to term the unseen entity that actually makes thinks, makes decisions or in other words the unseen entity that actually controls body and that includes brain as mind. Why couldn't they simply accept that as soul itself. They are advocating evil by hiding our true selves.

To all, who think evil doesn't exist or evil is relative term, I would say you don't see the world in a right way. Why does one pick barbarian religious traditions when someone talks about religion. Thats and easy way to bash true religion as well. If I pick at all failed scientific researches and keep saying that is what science is, it would not make any sense. There are many good religions all over the world. I would particularly pick the Hinduism and even Buddhism which is a child born from Hindu scriptures. When I say Hinduism I don't mean all the rotten superstitions that many local idiots kept adding them to the original scriptures just because they had access to them, but the fundamental truths (which they call it shrutis) that keeps reassuring that we are not bodies and that it is just a vehicle for our living as we chose to. Our goal should be towards realizing that truth. Personally I hate Indians(they are just ****) but truth is their Vedas really have got good message

The root cause is that we all are thinking: "I am the lord of all I survey. I am the enjoyer."
Due to the conditioned soul's eternal attitude of separation from God, the spell of material energy awards him two kinds of bodily existence—the gross body consisting of five elements, and the subtle body consisting of mind, intelligence and ego. Being covered by these two bodies, the conditioned soul eternally suffers the pangs of material existence . He is also subjected to six enemies (lust, anger, greed, illusion, envy and fear.). Such is the everlasting disease of the conditioned soul.
When one's mind is absorbed in the material conception, he thinks that he belongs to a particular nation, family, country or creed. These are all called, designations, and one has to become freed from them. As long as one is not freed, he has to continue conditioned life in material existence. The human form of life is meant for cleansing away these misconceptions.

The problem is that "Medical Science" doesn't say anything. It offers practical solutions to problems that are killing and hurting people that are based in logic. I have never heard "it" say anything.

I have heard some people who have been educated thoroughly in college, spent their lifetimes dedicated to healing, and exhausted themselves working to help save lives; try and offer their view of the world to others. This view is just like any one else and worth exactly what you pay for it.

Your view is one that others have had in the past. Heads roll off the shoulders of the intelligentsia when that happens to be the prevailing social fear. From the Inquisition to the Boxer Rebellion of China, fear of thinking people causes just as much evil if not more. Let's not start lumping the educated minds of the world into a massive source of all that is evil. That won't solve anything.

Best thing I can offer to you to answer your question on the root of evil and it's aviodance is to say the best thing you can do is solve what you can without trying to divide the world into factions of us versus them. Approach all people as individuals and practice/model the kinds of behaviors you would like to see more often. If nothing else, the more you practice them- the more you will see it being done. This might help you balance your view of the amount of evil in the world. Cast a light- not a stone. Then, know that when you have your light on, you should be looking at the faces of those around you; not the shadow behind them.

There isn't a way to do that with out religion. The problem with religion is what the people do with it. Most of what people do with religion is directed by clergy and rulers. There are just enough people usually who will embrace bad ideas by clergy and rulers to amount to a political majority. Atheists aren't going to get rid of religion. The solution is to help people become spiritual and to recognize that religion is for moving humanity toward recognition that we are souls.

True religion has never been the cause of problems. It has, in fact, been the cause of all good. What the clergy and rulers have done with religion, the gullibility of the people and their leaden sensibilities have been the cause of all the problems. The mind of man turned away from God is satan. There is no being that lurks in the near dimensions that tries to trip people up. Instead it is the mind of man who knows right from wrong and compromises for example: to accept a prejudice or a hatred of a neighbor, or that it might be okay to steal or murder for a good cause or to be sexual with the neighbors wife or husband. Evil comes into being through the agency of the mind of man turned away from God.

The Messengers of God brought a pure message to the people. Not long after though, in every case, the Message was twisted a little here and a little there and made to serve the purposes of the clergy and rulers. We must find the Message that is appropriate for our time, from the Messenger of God for this day and embrace that Message.

Religion is also philosophy. And Philosophy can also provide a rule of living a good life. The problem of evil comes from the human ability to be creative and also the human nature to be selfish. When we can use our creativity for life enhancing ends without being selfish we will have overcome evil in our self and in our culture. From a religious POV there is also another power in the world that contributes to evil. But if we take that out of it, the evil that exist is as I have suggested above.

Selfishness is the real root of all evil. And good luck killing that one off. It's instintive in man. And needed. Without it, people would die of self neglect. So what we need is a way to balance self serving with serving others. That's the point of religion, and the reason we can never be free of it.

I think if we were to rid the world of prejudice and ENVY then we have a good shot.

I believe in school there should be classes that teach student's how to be happy with themselves. Then maybe we wouldn't have so many adults that are hateful towards others.

Evolution does not exist we would all be big muscle people if we evolved and we would have less atheist becasue they arent growing smartter or perhaps smarter but more ignorants.I think pride is one people are to proud to accept a stronger being who created us also like there sinful ways the ways of death.But god help them.THERE IS NO WAY TO DEFEAT EVIL ONLY GOD CAN DO THAT JESUS IS THE VICTORIOUS ONE.NO ONE CAN DEFEAT EVIL IF THEY DONT KNOW WHAT IT IS THE BIBLE SHOWS YOU CLEARLY WHAT IT IS.
