i just has 4 tooth pulled out and about to get my braces on next week..My teeth aren't really crooked or anything but my mouth pops out a little bit so i'm trying to concave it in..theres crowding on the bottom but the top seems to fit perfectly in place..and having two tooth pulled out of it how are they gonna get rid of the empty spaces?? are they just going to pull everything forward if so how would that make my mouth go in? will my mouth not pop out anymore afterwards?thanks

I just got my braces off and my story was exactly the same as yours. My teeth were generally strait but my mouth protruded a bit. I had four teeth pulled and to close the holes my orthodontist pulled my teeth back so now I look much better (I think!) I also had TMJ (my jaw would lock) and the braces solved that problem. During your treatment you can expect to wear elastics b/c that it what I wore to help my teeth move back to fill in the gaps. I also had a clear plastic chain (although you can get colors if you want) around each bracket that helped to pull my teeth together as well.
Now that I am finished my teeth are nice and straight and my mouth no longer protrudes. My lips close much more easily and I am very happy with the results. Now I just have to wear my retainer for 6 months so my teeth don't move. Good luck with yor braces, I'm sure you will be very happy when everything is over and you have a beautiful smile!

The braces will pull your teeth into position and help get rid of the overbite. The empty spaces where the teeth were pulled will be filled in as your other teeth shift into position. My son just had two upper teeth pulled a month ago to help correct his overbite and make his teeth get into better position with his braces.

To answer you , will it change your looks?? Yes when you get braces your face might look different. My older sister who's 33 just got braces and everyone thinks she had a face lift.

When i Before i got braces i had some what of a crooked mouth lopsided if you will, braces changed that, also gave me a wrinkled chin if not done correctly. I experience lock jaw now beacausse orthodontist didn't do mine correctly so make sure you check his profile!

I'm sure the orthodontist knows what they are doing i would worry about it making you look bad i think that by pull those teeth in the back forward it would give your jaws in the back more to close so it wouldn't have to pop out anymore
